NIGHTMARE

While in bed, one lonely night
Caught in between the worlds
Of dreams and reality
There's a presence of something evil
It haunts and frightens my thoughts
It comes after me… laughing as it does
I can sense it, closing in
I feel so trapped here, I try to free myself
It comes closer… I try to fight
It's very close, but always out of reach
I turn on the light…but it's still dark
Fear grabs my soul… my heart pounding wildly
I try to escape… it moves even closer
Backing away, I moved quickly
Finding another light and turned it on
Hoping that it will drive it away
Surrounded by darkness still It comes for me
I realize I must be blind
My mind racing… blood pounding through
my head I know this is the end
Screaming… yelling for help
My voice fails to carry…. I awake sweating and shaking

Searching the dark room
And still feeling its presence…
