Lethal Dance

The doors are cold and black
As I entered the ballroom
Broken glass and dust litter the floor
The air is stale and the feeling is gloom

I see a woman dressed totally in black
Her skin is so pale, like the snow
In her eyes I see the pain of the world
Her name is Death, for this I know

Her beauty is overwhelming
She reminds me of someone in the past
Someone I gave all my love to once
And believed in my heart it would always last

Her body is cold as I hold her close
And we begin our lethal dance
There is no sound, but we hear the music
I know I can stop her, if I only take that chance

Day by day, she takes more away from me
I close my eyes and fight my fears
I'm tired of fighting this endless war
Tired of the sadness I've held inside all these years

I could never find the peace I sought
Never found happiness that I could keep
Never found the love that I needed
As I kiss her lips and fall asleep
